Subaru XV concept
Fri, 22 Apr 2011Following the teaser shot we brought you on April 15, Subaru has now revealed the XV concept, a design study that blends ‘exceptional SUV practicality with a fashionable form', according to the company.
Designers at Subaru's studios in Japan created the concept around the design keyword ‘Protren' a combination of ‘Professional tool' and ‘Trendy design'. It expresses the integration of "authentic functionality as a professional tool" and "urban and stylish design". Measuring in at 4450mm high, 1800mm wide and 1620mm tall, the vehicle features Subaru's standard hexagonal design elements design on the front – such as the hexagon grille, winged motif and hawk-eye headlights – and the rear.
The interior has been designed by combining engineered and playful elements. The contours running from IP across the door panels and to the center console have an engineered look, while 'silvery white leather' has been used as the base material for the seats. This light color creates a contrast with the interior darker tones. The use of mesh in selected areas also works to create a feeling of quality.
