Suzuki Swift SZ-L Special Edition makes a ‘Swift’ return – price from £11,099

It was only in February that the Suzuki Swift SZ-L Special Edition arrived as a special offer Swift with cosmetic tweaks. And now it’s back. We did question why Suzuki were using a special edition name they’d rolled out before when the Swift SZ-L arrived in February, but it seems odd to relaunch it all over again just a few months later.
We assumed Suzuki must have made more SZ-Ls than they sold, but it seems the latest version gets a slightly lower spec than the edition from earlier in the year, so it can’t be that.
Based on the Swift 1.2 litre SZ3, the SZ-L comes with the same two-tone metallic paint job as before – in either blue and white or black and white – rear spoiler and door mirrors as well as the regular stuff from the SZ3 like AirCon, Bluetooth and running lights.
Not that it matters much, but it seems the latest SZ-L isn’t getting the cruise control and silver stitching for the interior the earlier model did, even though, at £11,099 for the 3-door 1.2-litre Dual VVT 94PS (the only engine option) it’s £200 more than before.
Still, the Suzuki Swift is a great little runaround, £11k isn’t much and the two-tone paint job looks quite appealing.
