Texas man takes Bugatti for a swim
Fri, 13 Nov 2009What do you get when you mix the fastest production car in the world and a distracted driver? A waterlogged Bugatti Veyron.
A driver in Le Marque, Texas, was taking his 16-cylinder, 250-mph supercar for a drive on the back roads. The driver told police that a pelican flew low in front of him.
The man, who refused to be named, according to the Galveston County Daily News, said he jerked the wheel and dropped his cell phone. When he tried to recover, the left front tire hit some mud, and the Veyron slid into a lagoon.
The Veyron gurgled like an outboard motor in the two-foot lagoon for 15 minutes before finally succumbing to the saltwater. The Veyron had to be dragged out from the water. The Galveston paper shot video of the removal, which you can watch here:
