Renault on Monday unveiled a concept for a coupe crossover concept from its Romanian subsidiary, Dacia.
Named the Duster, the concept was designed as an image booster for Dacia, which makes the low-cost Logan car.
The Duster is Dacia's first concept car and it was partly designed by a Renault design team based in Bucharest.
The concept, which will be shown at the Geneva motor show, takes styling cues from its predecessors in the Logan family.
The concept car merges sporty coupe exterior styling with the spacious interior characteristics of the Logan.
Designers built the Duster on Renault's B0 entry platform, and the concept is equal in length to the Logan sedan at 167.3 inches.
The concept's 58.9-inch height creates a low-slung and aerodynamic look adapted to urban driving.
The Duster incorporates new elements for low-cost Dacia, including a panoramic glass roof and slim-line front seats.
The car extends Dacia's traditional use of interior space with various storage bins throughout the interior.
It also has a new modular seating arrangement that can quickly convert from a four-seat configuration for daily driving to a three-seat leisure version that adds space for hauling a mountain bike.
