The big prize awaits on the Autoweek America Adventure
Tue, 01 Nov 2011
It is the last morning of the Autoweek America Adventure, as I write this. Our traveling circus heads toward the big top in an hour or so, and we should be in Las Vegas before noon.
There is anticipation in the air, unlike other rallies I've attended, as this one has a significant main prize: a 2011 Mopar Charger will be given to one lucky contestant on the stage at the Specialty Equipment Market Association convention. Yes, the Mopar stage at SEMA will be where those who won a stage of each day's competition will get a key--and one of those keys will start the car and those will be the winners!
If you want, you can go to the Mopar Facebook page and watch in real time as events unfold. The plan is for this to take place at 2 p.m. local time, 5 p.m. Eastern.
Whatever the outcome, this has been a great trip. Oh, sure, there can be changes and modifications and they will be made because they're simple fixes. No, we don't want chicken again.
What you can't and won't fix is the great time we all had, the bond of camaraderie we built and the benefit to the Graham Rahal Foundation for children. When you can drive cars, have fun and make money for kids, everything is right in the world.
Can't wait for next year. Maybe we'll see you there?
