The future is cloudy

Last night before CES opened here in Las Vegas we met the principals of a start-up company called Driver Cloud. They said they had an idea about using the cloud to operate a package delivery service the same way other sites do ride sharing – you'd send out a notice on their network that you needed a package delivered and a bonded, licensed Driver Cloud truck owner would deliver it for you for a fee. The service, called Gofr, would work in conjunction with Driver Cloud's ride sharing component, called Chofr. We met and spoke with the CEO and the CTO. It sounded like a good idea so we wrote about it here.
However, attempts to summon their website went to a generic Go Daddy site that had no mention of the company, both the CEO's and CTO's e-mails got kicked back and the San Francisco phone number listed on their business cards rang and rang but didn't result in a person picking up or even a voice message machine kicking in. A call to a Toronto number also listed on the cards got a person but we were put on hold then cut off. A subsequent call lead to a message machine.
We look forward to hearing from them and will update you as soon as we hear anything back.
