Jeremy and James play with Crossovers and Caravans in tonight’s Top Gear

Surprisingly, we’re almost at the end of Series 20 of Top Gear, with tonight’s episode, episode 5, the next to last in the current series. The ‘consumer advice’ bit of tonight’s show focuses around crossovers and caravans.

James and Jeremy have concluded that crossovers are the perfect cars for caravanning, so they grab a pair of crossovers – one from Volkswagen and one from Mazda – and do a day living life as a caravanner in  the New Forsest and back at the Top Gear track.

Will we get accidental fires and broken caravans, or will it be tongue in cheek serious? What do you think?!

The supercar section tonight is a Lamborghini one, with Richard Hammond getting his hands not just on the Aventador, but on Lamborghini’s super light Sesto Elemento – a £2 million plus, limited run lightweight special from Lamborghini – in Italy and on the Top Gear Track.

It also looks like James May is getting to play with a recreation of a classic Porsche 911 – which we assume will be the stunning, if expensive Singer Porsche 911 - a beautifully crafted classic 911 with all the heart and soul of the original but with modern build quality.

Finally, the star in a reasonably priced car, the new Vauxhall Astra, is rock legend and Aerosmith front man Steve Tyler.

Top Gear Series 20 Episode 5 is on BBC2 tonight at 8pm.
