Mon, 20 Aug 2012The new Toyota Auris C-segment hatchback at next month's Paris motor show. The company will be hoping it continues it recent upturn in design terms.
The new family Toyota grille – first seen on the Yaris – adds sharpness to the nose an feeds through into the lamps and LED daytime running lights. In side profile the most obvious difference is the decrease in height. At 1,460mm high it's 5mm lower than the outgoing model and the lowest in its class. This is emaphasized by a DLO that has stretched from two to three windows, highlighted by a more pronounced, chrome-trimmed rising belt line.
At the rear the Auris has a new wrap-around lamp design that create a distinctive, flowing C-pillar design. The length of the Auris has increased by 30mm to 4,275mm while the width of 1,760mm has remained the same, as has the wheelbase of 2,600mm.
Inside, a large sunroof is one of the core elements, while the air vent, dial surrounds, center console and transmission tunnel trim are finished in silver. Baseball-stitched nappa leather is used to trim the steering wheel with soft materials featuring on the instrument panel's upper surface.
