Toyota Prius+ gets a bit of a tweak for 2015
Thu, 09 Oct 2014Toyota Prius+ gets a bit of a tweak for 2015
It’s more than three years since Toyota took the Prius and turned it in to the world’s only seven-seat MPV – the Toyota Prius+ – and more than two years since it arrived in the UK. So it’s time for a tweak or two. The cosmetic changes to the Prius+ are, by any standards, minor and consist of the normal facelift fodder with tweaks at the front – new grill design and badge and LED lights – and the back – redesigned bumper, slightly different lights and some trim round the numberplate – being pretty much it for the exterior. Oh, apart from two new colour options – Dark Sherry metallic and Attitude Black mica
The interior updates aren’t going to overwhelm either, with a bit of extra chrome here and there and dark silver metallic finish for some of the switchgear, a 4.2″ colour TFT info screen and the Toyota Touch 2 multimedia system which comes with a touchscreen, Bluetooth and reversing camera as standard.
Away from the minor cosmetic and tech tweaks, Toyota say they have improved the ride and handling of the Prius+ by changing the damping force, and added extra sound insulation in the side of the rear cabin to cut noise.
Toyota hasn’t revealed prices for the 2015 Prius+, but we can’t imagine they’ll be a lot different to the current £26k starting price when sales start at the end of 2014.
