Toyota Yaris
Fri, 07 Jan 2011Toyota has released these images of the latest variant of the ever-popular Yaris/Vitz city car. Whilst growing in every direction over the outgoing model, the new car manages to be around 30 kilos lighter than the model it replaces.
The exterior has received a thorough revision, being designed under the moniker of 'agility and sophistication'. What this translates to is a more angular and aggressive demeanor to the car. The large headlights and faux air vents dominate the DRG, adding an element of aggression to the previously soft appearing Yaris. In side profile, the double wheelarch surface helps emphasize the diminutive wheels against the heavy set body. Elsewhere, the car gains a stronger bone line as well as new bumper detail and revised clusters at the rear.
Inside, the previous model's central binnacle has been replaced with a more traditional set up in front of the driver. The assymetrical IP is focused around the large diameter screen in the center of the cabin, while interspersing grey plastics give the impression of wrapping around the driver, playing to the idea of agility. Added sophistication comes in the form of revised seats and superior sound proofing, Toyota claims.
