Unique Rolls-Royce rolls out for Masterpiece London event

There's no shortage of exclusive sheetmetal coming out of the Rolls-Royce factory in Goodwood, England. But once in while, something a little more special than the rest comes to be. For the Masterpiece London art-and-design event, Rolls built a bespoke Phantom Drophead coupe meant to capture the essence of the weekend getaway.
The extra-special car includes a set of luggage that fits in the trunk, along with an Asprey jewelry box housed in the glove compartment.
The set of four suitcases are made of high-quality leather, tanned in pits, giving it a tough but supple feel. The process takes four months to complete.
The jewelry box uses a hide of soft suede cut into 15 pieces for decoration. The box has a section for earrings and cuff links and a separate section for rings. An embossed Asprey logo completes the package.
The Masterpiece Drophead coupe is the first Rolls-Royce to be painted in Mazarine Blue, which takes inspiration from the English butterfly of the same name.
The interior is seashell in color with navy blue contrast. Rolls-Royce logos are embroidered in the headrests.
The Phantom gets oiled teak on the parcel shelf with mother-of-pearl inlays in the wood veneers. White instrument dials, rotary controllers and a clock with mother-of-pearl inlays add to the character.
The Masterpiece Phantom Drophead has the same 6.75-liter V12 engine as the base model, producing 453 hp and 531 lb-ft of torque. The rear-wheel-drive convertible gets a six-speed transmission with a power-folding cloth soft top.
You can't buy this exact version but according to Rolls-Royce, if a customer wanted something like it, they could make it happen. Expect about a 15 percent increase from the $447,000 base price. But hey, you get a set of luggage and a jewelry box.
