VW Polo R-Line Style & more equipment across Polo range
Wed, 03 Apr 2013Volkswagen has introduced the VW Polo R-Line Style – price from £11,740 – in the UK and added more equipment across the Polo range for 2013.
We though that VW had done the R-Line thing with the launch of the Polo R-Line this time last year, but it seems the bean counters at Volkswagen have worked out there’s room for a Polo R-Line ‘Light’ in the range, so we now get the VW Polo R-Line Style.
That’s because VW decided that, unlike most of the VW range where the R-Line is an add-on pack for any model, the Polo R-Line only comes with the 1.2 litre 105PS engine – albeit in 3-door or 5-door guise – so you can’t have a more butch-looking R-Line with ‘lesser’ Polos. But now you can.
The new Polo R-Line Style can be had with either the 1.2 litre 60PS or 70PS engine and adds an R-Line bodykit, body coloured door handles and mirrors, 16″ Rivazza alloys, Bluetooth and, as it’s based on the Polo S, you also get AirCon as an option and the choice of Flash Red, Candy White, Nimbus Grey or Deep Black Pearl paint jobs.
As well as adding the R-Line Style to the range, VW has also added more equipment to other models, with the BlueMotion and Match now getting rear parking sensors, Cruise and alarm with the Match getting renamed the ‘Polo Match Edition’.
Across the other models in the Polo range - SEL, R-Line, BlueGT and GTI – changes are equally minimal with the addition of Cruise and rear parking sensors, but no increase in price.
The VW Polo R-Line Style costs between £11,740 and £13,950 depending on which engine you choose and whether you want AirCon or not.
