Vauxhall Mokka SUV price from £16,995
Fri, 08 Jun 2012The sub-comp[act SUV Vauxhall Mokka is now on sale in the UK in three trim levels with a choice of three engines from £16,995. First customer cars in November 2012.
The official debut for the Vauxhall Mokka (which retains the German spelling of 'Mocha' for its name) was the 2012 Geneva Motor Show in March, although by then we already knew what was on offer.
That's because not only had Vauxhall / Opel divvied up photos of the Mokka in January, we'd also had the Buick Encore revealed in the States which is, to all intents and purposes, a Mokka with an Uncle Sam badge.
So for all those reasons the Mokka is familiar and seems like it's been around for a while. But it's only now going on sale in the UK and first customer cars won't arrive until November - just in time for the Winter slip and slide (assuming you opt for a 4WD Mokka).
The Mokka is said by Vauxhall top comfortably accommodate five adults, but from what we've seen so far don't get one if you're hoping to accommodate rugby playing teenage sons in the back - they won't fit. But that said, there's enough room to squeeze in three small ones in the back if you're not going too far and the driver and front seat passenger aren't long of leg.
The Mokka comes in three trim levels - S, Exclusiv and SE - and with a choice of three engines and FWD or 4WD. Starting point is the Mokka S 1.6 115 PS manual at £16,995, rising to £23,490 for the Mokka SE 1.7 CDTi S/S 4WD.
Standard equipment across the range seems decent enough with AirCon, Hill Descent, Cruise, Aux-in and DMB Radio as standard. Opt for the Exclusiv trim and you can add in stuff like Climate, Bluetooth, Auto lights and wipers, parking sensors and 18" alloys.
Top of the tree Mokka SE adds leather trim, heated sports seats, Bi-xenon headlights, adaptive lights, heated steering wheel, bits of chrome and a set of midnight silver 18" alloys.
You can now toddle off to spec up your new Mokka at you local Vauxhall showrooms, and if you're quick you might get it before the end of the year.
