Vauxhall heads off-road with Insignia Country Tourer
Thu, 26 Sep 2013VAUXHALL'S new Insignia Country Tourer will cost from £25,349 when it arrives in the UK in January hot on the heels of the revised Insignia hatch and estate models.
The Country Tourer is a soft-roader version of the Insignia Sports Tourer estate model and has an added 30mm of ground clearance, as well as front and rear underbody protection to help on rough tracks.
Vauxhall has also fitted the car with extra protective covers for the wheelarches and body sides.
There are two trim levels for customers to choose from, comprising the standard model and the Nav version that comes with satellite navigation as standard. Prices for the Nav model begin at £26,499. Every Country Tourer comes with adaptive front lights, powered tailgate, and front and rear parking sensors.
Two engine options are also on offer, both 20-litre turbodiesels. The 161bhp 2.0-litre turbodiesel has a six-speed manual gearbox as standard, while the 2.0 BiTurbo with 192bhp uses a new six-speed automatic gearbox. All Country Tourers have four-wheel drive as standard.
