Volvo is the latest car maker to play tease with concept shots of their new cars, this time with the Volvo S60 for 2010.

I’m really not sure that teaser shots work as a marketing ploy (which, let’s face it, is all they are). For a start, 9 out of 10 of the concept shots we see bear nothing more than a passing resemblance to the final car. As well as which, by the time the car actually materialises, the buying public tend to think of it as ‘old-hat’ because they’ve seen endless pictures of how it’s ‘going’ to look. And then, to top it all, comes the big let down. Instead of being designed by Armani it ends up being more ‘George at Asda’.

But none of this is going to stop car makers playing this game, so here you can see what Volvo reckons the S60 for 2010 is going to look like.

My money’s on it looking like every other Volvo.
