Volvo V60 Polestar teased again (probably)
Sat, 23 Nov 2013Volvo V60 Polestar teased again
Last week we had a teaser video from Volvo of what we think is probably a proper performance version in the guise of the Volvo V60 Polestar. Now, ahead of a reveal that seems to be scheduled for Tuesday (23 rd November), Volvo and Polestar are back at the tease game with a couple of new images which still leave a bit of ambiguity, but which do seem to be pointing to a V60 Polestar.
The front end of the Polestar tease (above) does seem to show a butch front end for the V60, and the interior shot shows the flappy paddles and steering wheel from the interior.
What we really don’t know is just how much oomph Polestar is going to add to the V60; whether it will be a slightly boosted V60 like the S60 Polestar produced for Australia with around 350bhp, or a proper production version of the 500bhp S60 Volvo and Polestar built as a one-off last year.
We’re hoping it will be the latter, complete with 4WD and, judging by the photo of the flappy paddles, with, we hope, Volvo’s new eight-speed auto ‘box. Although it’s much more likely to be a six-speed.
We’re probably hoping more than expecting that Polestar will deliver a 500bhp, 4WD V60, as they’re much more likely to deliver a 350bhp version just like the S60 Polestar for Australia. Which would be a bit of a shame.
But, when all is revealed next week, this new Polestar Volvo may not even be a V60.
