Volvo V60 revealed officially
Mon, 05 Jul 2010The Volvo V60 - bows in a bit early
It doesn’t usuallt take too long once a new car is oured on the web in all its production-ready glory for the maker to bite the bullet and do an official reveal. Which is why we get the official Volvo V60 photo and information today – a bit earlier than Volvo had planned – after a Swedish car mag outed the new estate.
In case you hadn’t cottoned on the Volvo V60 is the estate version of the Volvo S60, although it does seem as if Volvo is none too keen on us calling it an estate. It likes to refer to the new V60 as a coupe or a sport wagon, and with the coupe-like glass area diminishing the further back you go they have a point.
Despite not wanting to call the V60 an estate – and not unreasonably pointing out that the Volvo V70 is the Volvo load-lugger – the V60 still has the practicality of a fold flat set of seats – back and front passeneger – although Volv0 has declined to tell us what the load capacity is.
There will be more engine options on the V60 than you can shake a stick at, with a trio of diesels – 2.0 and 2.4 5-pots and a 1.5 4-pot – and the whole quintet of petrols starting out at 1.6 litres and running up to 3.0 litres (the Volvo V60 T6). You will also get the usual plethora of safety kit as standard and option, including Pedestrian Detection and City Safety.
The Volvo V60 will officially debut at the Paris Motor Show and go on sale soon after. And for all the info have a look at the Volvo V60 Press Release.
Decent looking Volvo.
