Audi nanuk off-road supercar concept for Frankfurt Motor Show 2013

Audi has revealed a surprise new concept on the eve of the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show – the Audi nanuk quattro concept, a 544hp V10 TDI-engined crossover supercar. The Audi nanuk quattro concept SUV supercar is a design collaboration with famous Italian styling house Giugiaro and, says Audi, has been created to combine ‘the dynamics of a high-performance sports car with Audi’s quattro expertise on the road, on the race track and also off-road’. New Volvo C30 introduced +Video

Volvo has facelifted the C30 for 2010 and will launch it at Frankfurt The front of the new C30 sports sheet metal changes to the wings and bonnet and a bigger Volvo badge on the honeycomb grill, together with bigger air intake. These changes reflect those seen on the new Volvo C70 and are a reflection of design cues from the S60 Concept. The rear gets a tweak too, and you now get a colour-coded rear valence, which can be specified in a contrast colour if you wish.

VW Nils revealed at Frankfurt There have been quite a few of these very small, go-kart-style urban commuter cars cropping up of late, but perhaps the Volkswagen Nils is the most promising. The most promising because if – and it’s a very big if – commuters take to the idea of a grown-up version of a soap-box Kart with an engine for getting to work, the VW Nils will possibly offer the best combination of practicality, refinement and cost. Yes, there’s the Audi Urban Concept to consider, but that will be more expensive (there’s a reason Audi makes VW 40% of its profits), so if commuters do actually find appeal in this route then the Nils is probably the front-runner.
