Volvo V40 Cross Country arrives

Volvo has revealed the 2013 V40 Cross Country, a new variant on the new V40, offering a more rugged option for the V40 range. We thought it was going to be the Volvo XC40 – denoting an SUV come crossover version of the new V40 – but Volvo has decided that their more rugged version of the V40 will take the Cross Country name - first used on the V70 in 1997 – and so we get the new Volvo V40 Cross Country. GM, Ford, Chrysler advance as market recovers from May dip

Automakers, aided by a rise in pickup demand and new models such as the Chevrolet Cruze, Fiat 500 and Ford Focus small cars, posted higher U.S. sales in June. Sales rose 11 percent at GM, with car demand climbing 28 percent and pickup truck volume up 15 percent.

Porsche considers North America, China production to grow sales

Porsche may launch production in North America and China as part of a plan to double annual global sales to 200,000 units, CEO Matthias Mueller said. Mueller said the sports car maker's current German assembly plants in Zuffenhausen, near Stuttgart, and Leipzig, were too small for the brand to reach its ambitious goals. "We will consider this year whether to start production in Asia or North America," Mueller told the German magazine Focus in an interview published Monday.
