Ford's young driver training proves a hit

FORD'S new young driver training programme, dubbed Ford Driving Skills for Life, has proved an instant hit with the first two sessions being substantially oversubscribed. Over 500 applications were made for the 300 free places available at Excel in London and the Trafford Centre in Manchester, and the participants aged between 17 and 24 received tips and guidance in the controlled environment of a purpose-built track. Manchester University student, Ryan Harrison, who took part in the free driver training, said: “I’ve learned so much today, especially in the skid car, learning what I’ve done wrong in the past without realising it and where to put my hands on the wheel.

China’s Geely to bring Emgrand range to UK in 2013

Geely are planning to bring their Emgrand range to the UK We didn’t think Geely would venture to the West with any of their own brand cars, expecially as Geely is doing very well with its Swedish purchase – Volvo. But it seems that Geely is planning on bringing their cars – certainly the ‘Premium’ Emgrand range – to the UK by 2013. Škoda 2013 Octavia

The 2013 Škoda Octavia has been unveiled ahead of its world debut at the Geneva motor show in March. Škoda design chief Jozef Kabaň and his team completely redesigned the outgoing second-generation model and it has grown in length and width by 90 mm and 45 mm respectively. The wheelbase has also grown by 108mm, making more room for the occupants inside.
