Free Regent Street Motor Show to showcase past, present and future

A GLORIOUS MIX of old and new will descend on the capital in early November as the Regent Street Motor Show returns. On Saturday 2nd November Regent Street closes to traffic from Piccadilly Circus to Oxford Circus, allowing over 300 cars to go on display in a free show for the public. The display will include as many as 100 pre-1905 veteran vehicles which will compete in the EFG International Concours d’Elegance and then take on the London to Brighton Veteran Car Run the following day - the oldest competitive driving event in the world.

Kia sounds off at SEMA show with five loud Souls

James Brown may have passed on, but the Soul puns live. Kia's SEMA show assault this year includes five examples of the 2014 Soul, designed through collaborations with Vans, Popular Mechanics, RIDES (two of them), and NBC's "The Voice." There's a mobile DJ booth. One filled with stuff from Jimi Hendrix and John Legend.

M-way closures 'all year round'

SOME MAJOR MOTORWAYS did not operate at full capacity on any day last year, according to figures obtained under a Freedom of Information Act request. There were some lane closures on all 365 days of 2013 on the M1, M4, M5, M6 and M25 as well as on the M60 in north west England and on the M54 in Shropshire and Staffordshire. There were 358 days of lane closures on the M62 in northern England, 357 on the M40 which runs west from London to South Wales and 355 on the M27 in Hampshire.
