Sat, 30 Jul 2011

2012 BMW 1-Series - Full UK Prices & Details Back in June we got the official reveal of the 2012 BMW 1-Series ahead of a launch at Frankfurt. Which did seem a bit early, but as we’d published a whole heap of leaked photos of the new 1-Series just the day before perhaps BMW’s hand was forced? Still, it appears BMW’s plans were always to get the detail out on the 1-Series out well ahead of Frankfurt, because the 2012 BMW 1-Series is going to turn up in a showroom near you as soon as the cleaners hit the floor to wrap up the 2011 Frankfurt Motor Show.

Lamborghini Urus SUV to cost £135,000

Sat, 14 Jul 2012

It’s being claimed by Georg Kacher that the Lamborghini SUV – the Lamborghini Urus – will cost £135,000 when it launches in 2016. Even if the VW board are yet to sign off on the Lamborghini Urus SUV, there’s almost zero chance it won’t make it in to production. With the 2013 Range Rover heading even more upmarket, the Bentley SUV heading for market in 2015 and endless super-SUVs from car customisers the super luxury SUV market is not one Lamborghini can afford to miss out on.

Now the Germans say no to Volvo

Sat, 03 Jan 2009

As we’ve reported in the last few weeks, Ford has been trying its best to offload Volvo, the last of its ‘Prestige’ Euro marques. The Chinese looked to be the best bet, but it seems that that is going nowhere at the moment (the Chinese are probably waiting for Ford to get in to an even deeper mess with the hope of picking up Volvo for peanuts) and now its seems that Ford’s fire-sale has drawn more blanks. Now the Germans turn down the chance to own Volvo Der Spiegel reports that Daimler (Mercedes-Benz) boss Dieter Zetsche has revealed that Daimler has turned down the chance to buy Volvo, and has also revealed that BMW has had a good look, and reached the same decision.
