I have a nice set of factory OEM BMW 17” “M Double Spoke 68” Sport wheels for sale that were recently removed from a 2005 BMW 330i.   The set is staggered; the rear wheels are 1 inch wider than the front wheels.  They were removed from 2005 e46 330i, but will also fit the 323, 325, 328 sedans, coupes and convertibles.  They will also fit the e36 (1991-1999) 3-series cars (both M and non-M cars) and the Z3 and Z4 cars and potentially others but see the below specs and do your own research.   These are probably one of the best looking and most aggressive 3-series wheel designs that BMW offers.  These wheels are a great way to update your car while improving the appearance and increasing the value.

Front wheels are 7.5JX17, offset 41, (225/45ZR17) BMW part number 36112229180

Rear wheels are 8.5JX17, offset 50, (245/40ZR17) BMW part number 36112229135

These wheels are in good condition with a few light marks/scrapes here and there.   I have used the “supersize” picture option to demonstrate the quality and finish so please take advantage of it.   The wheels are wrapped with continental SportContact tires and the fronts have approximately 90% and the rears approximately 65% (see front and rear tread pic respectively).  I receive a substantial fedex shipping discount which I pass onto you so shipping will be between $30 -$40 per wheel within the U.S. and if outside the U.S. please contact me. If you need the wheels sooner don't hesitate to contact me. If you have any questions don't hesitate to contact me. If you want to see them in Newport Beach, CA please contact me.  Free local pickup.

The Future Role of the Vehicle Designer

Fri, 14 May 2010

The vehicle design department at the Royal College of Art hosted the second in a series of five lectures looking at the future of the profession last week. Moving on from the previous week's topic of sustainability, this debate explored the future roles and responsibilities of the vehicle designer. Head of department Dale Harrow began by posing the question "Is it time to rethink – do we still need the car?" Although still relevant, Harrow's ultimate answer to this was that the profession was about to see marked change, with the end to an era where "designers are locked behind closed doors in studios".
