BMW Tablet DVD System The BMW Tablet DVD System integrates into the interior of the BMW car with even more visual appeal. The adapted chrome frame and the use of the BMW word mark and splash screen highlight its high quality. The tablet DVD system is a full-value rear-seat entertainment system in the lower-end price bracket. The system comprises 2 portable screens (1 screen with integrated DVD player) and 2 car mounts. The mounts are secured to the headrest spars and remain in the car. The voltage supply is delivered via a Y-cable, which connects the mounts with the car's 12 V socket or cigarette lighter socket. Looking at its design, the team's childlike enthusiasm has shone through, resulting in a very cool concept. From the rakish front to the wraparound windscreen and on to the bread van rear, everything communicates high-tech and ‘70's futurism while also channeling a little of the Star Wars X-Wing. Thanks to plastic body panels, the concept weighs only 850kg and is powered by a 491cc rotary engine delivering 247bhp fitted behind the cabin, in front of the rear axle.

The cosmetic changes are most noticeable on the front with a new cross-shape nose and upper and lower grills, diffuser and new LED lights at the back and a higher quality interior. Engine choices remain the 1.0 and 1.33 petrol engines, the 1.4 D-4D diesel and, of course, the 1.5 VVT-i Hybrid, with Active and Icon treim carrying over and Sport and Excel trims added (the Yaris Hybrid can only be had with Icon and Excel trim).
Car insurance cost at four-year low
Thu, 10 Apr 2014THE COST of insuring a car has fallen to a four-year low as motorists benefit from a record 19% drop in average premiums compared with a year ago. The Confused.com car insurance price index, in association with Towers Watson, reveals the average cost of comprehensive car insurance in the first quarter stood at £596, a drop of £140 against this time last year. The figure, including a reduction of 7.5% on the previous quarter, means that average premiums have dipped below £600 for the first time since late 2009.
