Police ‘spitalyser’ to catch drug-drivers

Motorists who smoke cannabis before driving will soon find it harder to evade police thanks to a new device dubbed the ‘spitalyser’. The government is spending £120,000 rolling out the devices – also known as ‘drugalysers’ – across 11 police forces for a trial period. Toyota are recalling all Auris, RAV4, Yaris & Corolla models worldwide to check a faulty electric window switch. Toyota has issued a recall for some 7.4 million cars worldwide to check a potential fault on the Power Window Master Switch on all models of the Toyota Auris, RAV4, Corolla and Yaris built between September 2006 and December 2008. In the UK there are around 138,000 cars affected, but the Corolla is not affected in the UK – just the Auris, Yaris and RAV4.
