Wed, 29 Jan 2014Chrysler Group reported an increase in earnings for the fourth quarter as the launch of the2014 Jeep Cherokee and higher U.S. sales helped the automaker to its third straight annual profit. In a separate announcement today, Chrysler and Fiat said their combined company will be renamed Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV.
GM to double size of battery lab
Mon, 12 Apr 2010General Motors says it will spend $8 million to double the size of its Global Battery Systems Lab, which the company claims is the largest and most technologically advanced automotive battery lab in the United States. GM says the expansion will speed up the development of hybrid and electric vehicles, such as the upcoming Chevrolet Volt, by improving on-site testing of battery cells and systems. When finished, the lab will be 30,000 square feet bigger than it is now, for a 63,000-square-foot total.
Peugeot RCZ Hybrid looks certain
Mon, 14 Sep 2009Peugeot seems certain to put the RCZ Hybrid in to production And that ‘Yeah, right’ has now turned in to a ‘Who are you kidding?’ after Peugeot released information today on the RCZ Hybrid4 that frankly wouldn’t warrant doing unless they were already set on a production model. Not more information than we had a couple of weeks ago, but why bother with a new press release on the Hybrid RCZ when you’d already covered it? Unless you want more coverage because you’re going to make it, that is.
