The Bloodhound SuperSonic Car is a rocket-powered land missle

Tue, 06 Nov 2012

The ambitious British Bloodhound SuperSonic Car project took a significant step forward in the quest to raise the world's land speed record to 1,000 mph when the machine's main power unit—a spectacularly forceful rocket engine—was successfully test fired Oct. 3. Furthermore, despite spending many weeks learning to pass the test, 68% of younger drivers feel that they need to improve while 25% admit to crashing.

But with the popularity of this compact urban cruiser soaring in Japan and the recent availability of the vehicle in the UK, we now had a chance to give it a go on the often traffic crippled streets of central London. Congestion in urban milieus is not a new phenomenon, but even with London's congestion charging system extorting money from drivers it doesn't seem to be getting any better.
