Porsche Panamera S E-hybrid scores £5k government grant

Wed, 27 Nov 2013

By Ollie Kew First Official Pictures 27 November 2013 12:30 You’d have thought the last thing a buyer wealthy enough to afford an £89k Porsche Panamera needed was a £5000 discount on their mammoth new supersaloon. But, thanks the Panamera S E-hybrid cracking the eco numbers, that’s exactly what the UK government is offering. The Panamera S E-hybrid has joined a list of just 15 cars eligible for Britian’s ‘ULEV’ (ultra low-emission vehicle) status, approved by OLEV (the Office for low-emission vehicles.) Yes, in real life, it’s ridiculous, but on paper, the S E-hybrid is a wunderkid of low-emission motoring.

2012 VW Scirocco gets cheaper, adds R Line trim

Tue, 03 Apr 2012

2012 VW Scirocco Volkswagen has had a play with the Scirocco range for 2012, adding equipment, cutting prices and adding an R Line trim. The Volkswagen Scirocco is a good little coupe. We wish the Scirocco R had the 4WD the Golf R gets, but other than that it’s stylish, quite individual and, despite its FWD setup, fun.

Ferrari 612 Shooting Brake NOT the new 612

Thu, 06 Jan 2011

Ferrari 612 Shooting Brake Spy shot Last week we ran a story about the replacement for Ferrari’s four-seat supercar, the Ferrari 612 Scaglietti. The basic premise was that Ferrari would be bringing the replacement for the 612 Scaglietti to the Geneva Motor Show in March, and that it would feature a new, 650bhp V12 engine, and 4×4 platform and be a Shooting Brake. All of which was a cobbling together from bits of information we’ve received when we started to dig around for information after Ferrari chairman Luca di Montezemolo recently said there will be a “very different Ferrari” at Geneva.
