You can do your own jokes, but rest assured it won’t be called that once it reaches the UK sometime in 2015. It’s based on the same platform as the all-new Honda Fit, the car we know as the Jazz, and will go on sale in Japan this December.

Last week we had Saab and their Chinese ‘backers’ getting in a bit of a muddle over funding. Which is what we’ve come to expect. Saab were adamant that the quote attributed to the Pangda Chairman that the Saab deal was no longer valid was a ‘misunderstanding’.

Based GM's Kappa platform, the Beira features new front and rear body sections made from lightweight composites instead of steel.
