Mitsubishi to make Outlander Sport at Illinois plant

Mitsubishi Motors Corp. said Friday it will invest $100 million to build the Outlander Sport crossover at its Normal, Ill., plant starting in summer 2012. Mitsubishi expects annual output of 50,000 units, with half dedicated to North America and the rest for export to Russia, Latin America and the Middle East.

First Mercedes quietly drop the V12 engine from the SL (SL600 and SL63), and now we have video of the new SL on its way to, and on its way round, the Nurburgring. In the eighties, General Motors-owned Isuzu was fairly successful, but it was suffering from a ‘plain' brand image. To gain recognition, it presented a series of concept cars such as the COA, COA III and Costa but the most effective was the stunning 4200R. Presented at the 1989 Tokyo motor show, the 4200R's graceful proportions and curvy volumes were highly acclaimed by the public and the press.
