Hyundai today showed off the new i10 city car - one of the most popular small cars in the UK during last year's scrappage incentive scheme. As well as a cosmetic pick-me-up, the new 2011 Hyundai i10 gains a pair of new engines with stop-start tech for emissions nudging just under the magic 100g/km CO2 mark.  The Hyundai i10 Blue emits 99g/km of carbon dioxide, and the Koreans claim it's the cheapest five-seat car on the market to hit sub 100g/km. Volkswagen debuts two SUV concepts in Qatar

Volkswagen unveiled two SUV concepts, based on the Touareg, called the Race Touareg 3 Qatar and the Touareg Gold Edition at the Qatar motor show on Wednesday. The Race Touareg 3 Qatar is a street-legal version of the automaker’s car that won the 2011 Dakar Rally. The car can accelerate from 0 to 62 mph in less than six seconds.

Lord Sugar leads roadworks campaign

THE GOVERNMENT is to look at the better coordination of roadworks by utility companies after complaints by peers. Labour's Lord Sugar led the call for action at question time in the Lords with support from Tory former chancellor Lord Lamont of Lerwick. Lord Sugar, star of BBC television's The Apprentice show, urged "commonsense coordination" between the gas, electricity, water and telecoms companies.
