The fiber optic cables are fitted into the terminator connector before being inserted into the M.O.S.T plug which then fits into each module on the ring. http://www.te.com/usa-en/product-1-1355426-1.html

M.O.S.T stands for (Media Orientated Systems Transport) fiber optic ring and is used by European vehicle manufacturers to interconnect the audio/visual equipment within their vehicles. We have been advised that other vehicle manufacturers also use the standard M.O.S.T fibre optic ring system including Aston Martin, Honda, Toyota, Volvo, General Motors, Hyundai and Kia. We can see no reason why this cable terminator and plug should not also be fully compatible with these vehicles.

The terminator will correctly align the two ends of the fiber optic cables into the male M.O.S.T plug and the plug will correctly align the two cables into the modules on the fiber optic ring. We can also supply female M.O.S.T fiber optic sockets, please see our other listings or contact us for further details.

We can also supply the M.O.S.T fiber optic POF (Polymer Optical Fiber) cable with brass ferrule ends suitable for use in automotive MOST fiber optic rings to control audio/visual equipment in various lengths and we can also supply the M.O.S.T fiber optic cable in-line connector. Please see our other listings or contact us for further details.

Please check the type of fiber optic cable and ferrule ends fitted in your vehicle and compare them with the photos in this listing before ordering to ensure compatibility.

EPA rules greenhouse gases pose danger; more regulation expected

Fri, 17 Apr 2009

The EPA has proposed a finding that greenhouse gases from new vehicles and industrial plants pose a danger to the public, kicking off a process that could result in tighter regulation of carbon dioxide emissions. The EPA's findings come two years after the U.S. Supreme Court ordered the agency to determine whether these emissions contribute to harmful air pollution under the Clean Air Act or whether the science is too uncertain.

Call for reform over road repair funding

Fri, 06 Jun 2014

FUNDING patterns mean most road maintenance is being carried out in "less-efficient, cold and wet" times, a report from a Government spending watchdog has said. The current pattern of funding, combined with the need to spend money within the financial year, means that most maintenance work goes on between September and March, said the report from the National Audit Office (NAO). It went on: "Although this is less disruptive for road users, it is less efficient than carrying out the work at other times of year because materials can be more difficult to handle in cold and wet conditions, and daylight hours are shorter." The report went on: "As a result of the additional funding for emergency repairs, which is made available at the end of the financial year, almost all highways authorities need extra capacity from the market at the same time, which makes it less likely that they will get value for money." The NAO report said there was a "lack of predictability" over road spending adding that historically, local highway authorities spent more revenue on maintenance, but were now carrying out fewer routine activities such as clearing gullies which are essential to preventing water seeping into roads' sub-structure.
