This auction is for the Panasonic VL2020 battery, adhesive pad and three of the pushbutton switches used in several models of BMW remote keys.
This auction is for a new Panasonic VL2020-1HF Rechargeable vanadium pentoxide rechargeable battery (see note after the picture), foam doublesided adhesive pad and three pushbutton switches used in the popular BMW diamond shaped key. The diamond shaped key come out for the 2000 model year with the E46 3-series, E39 5-series, E85 Z4, E53 X5 and E83 X3. The doublesided adhesive pad is used to mount the battery to the circuit board so that vibration does not cause the solder joints to break with everyday shock and handling. It also makes the key feel more solid, no funny vibration in the key from the battery vibrating. Most of the BMW diamond keys did not have double sticky pads mounting the batteries until around the last year of production. This auction also includes three pushbuttons that are used in most BMW diamond keys. The reason I say most is because the pushbutton switch for the center button was changed near the end of production to a slightly larger switch while the outer two pushbutton switches stayed the same. Possibly changed because the center pushbutton switch failed often??? I don't know. If you need it, I have this switch so if you find out that you have the newer key let me know and I can swap switches for the cost of shipping. 90% of the diamond shaped keys that I get in for repair use the 3 pushbutton switches that I include in this auction.
All BMW diamond shaped keys use the Panasonic VL2020 like the one in this auction, but, BMW has a custom lead configuration (+ & - leads about 45 degrees apart) which is not available to the public. Because of this the VL2020-1HF here (+ & - leads 180 degrees apart) will require slight modification in order to fit. I will include some suggested instructions with the battery.
