Overfinch reveals bespoke 2014 Range Rover
Tue, 24 Dec 2013The debut of the long-wheelbase Range Rover a month ago raised the bar when it comes to SUVs acting as chauffeured limousines, even if the model was arguably a few years late to the market's demands. When coupled with the Autobiography Black trim, the long-wheelbase Range Rover didn't quite turn into a conference room on wheels, but it did do a good impression of first-class airline seating. Ford Granada with the heart of a Koenigsegg CCX
Fri, 15 Jun 2012Two mad Norwegians – Joel Olsen and Ingar Byman – have transplanted the Ford V8 from the Koenigsegg CCX in to a Mk II Granada – Project ZZZ…ZZZ. The MK II Granada was a perfectly decent big Ford in the days Ford made big cars. Wallowy, yes, but better as the 2.8i than the 2.8 and even quite fun in a ‘piloting a barge’ sort of way.
GM's historic Willow Run plant closes
Fri, 24 Dec 2010After 68 years of arming the nation and putting America on wheels, the Willow Run manufacturing plant in southeast Michigan closed on Thursday. The 5-million-square-foot powertrain plant, owned by Motors Liquidation Corp., the remnants of the former General Motors Corp., has fallen victim to GM's 2009 bankruptcy and subsequent restructuring. About 300 workers left at the plant will either “retire, transfer to another campus or go on layoff,” said Chris Lee, a spokesman for the reorganized General Motors Co.
