Bmw Most Fiber Optic Cable - Female Plug / Connector / Socket on 2040-parts.com
Cambridge, United Kingdom
This item is a BMW female cable connector socket / plug specifically designed to terminate two fibre optic cables (data "in" cable and data "out" cable) and plug them into an existing male fibre optic plug for audio/visual modules on a M.O.S.T fibre optic ring found in BMW, Mercedes, Porsche, Audi, VW, Jaguar and Land Rover vehicles. Please see the BMW parts diagram included with this listing (part number 9 is the female connector socket / plug in the diagram). The fibre optic cables are fitted into this BMW female connector socket / plug by a push fit and the blue tab locks the cables in position. No special tools are required to fit the fibre optic cables into this plug socket. The following link will provide full engineering details of the female M.O.S.T cable connector socket / plug in this listing: Female Cable Connector / Plug http://www.te.com/usa-en/product-1-1394916-2.html Male Cable Connector Plug http://www.te.com/usa-en/product-1355426-1.html M.O.S.T stands for (Media Orientated Systems Transport) fibre optic ring and is used by European vehicle manufacturers to interconnect the audio/visual equipment within their vehicles. We have been advised that other vehicle manufacturers also use the standard M.O.S.T fibre optic ring system including Aston Martin, Honda, Toyota, Volvo, General Motors, Hyundai and Kia. We can see no reason why our female cable connector socket / plug should not also be fully compatible with these vehicles.
This BMW female M.O.S.T cable connector socket / plug will correctly align the two ends of the fibre optic cables (data in and data out) and enable the cables to be connected to an existing male M.O.S.T plug on the fibre optic ring. This female plug is very useful if you want to extend or modify an existing fibre optic ring and need to connect to an existing male M.O.S.T plug i.e. to add an additional module on to the ring. We can also supply BMW male M.O.S.T fibre optic plugs, please see our other listings or contact us for further details. We also supply M.O.S.T fibre optic POF (Polymer Optical Fibre) cable with brass ferrule ends suitable for use in automotive MOST fibre optic rings to control audio/visual equipment in various lengths and we can also supply the M.O.S.T fibre optic cable in-line connectors. Please see our other listings or contact us for further details.
Please check the type of fiber optic cable and ferrule ends fitted in your vehicle and compare them with the photos in this listing before ordering to ensure compatibility. First Dacia Duster SUVs leave India bound for the UK
Fri, 30 Nov 2012The first Dacia Duster SUVs built in RHD for the UK market left India this morning to help satisfy Renault’s growing order book for the Duster. With the sort of response the Duster has received in the UK – with prices for the entry-level Duster starting at just £9k – Renault are no doubt wishing they’d brought the Duster to the UK sooner. But such was the demand for the Duster in mainland Europe and emerging markets that they just couldn’t get production of RHD Dusters organised for the UK until now, when Renault’s plant at Oragadam, near Chennai in India, finally managed to satisfy its home market demand sufficiently to leave enough capacity for RHD cars bound for the UK and Ireland to roll off the production line.

When we reviewed Ford’s first Fiesta ECOnetic we were impressed that, at least if you were prepared to drive wi8th a very light foot, you could get 70mpg out of a comfortable and fun Fiesta. But we did say that ECOnetic should be an engine choice and not a model choice.
