Bmw Motorcycle Valve Cover, #124, /5 & /6, Damaged on 2040-parts.com

This valve cover came from a /6,  but is identical to the /5 and will fit later models too, but is cosmetically different.  It has serious road rash on one part and minor on the other part. The serious one has damage in the form of a crack on the inside.

The only 2 reasons to buy this valve cover are; 1.  It is better than yours.  2.  We used covers like this to cut down and weld in a plate to give increased ground clearance for our road racer.  One can gain about 1/4" this way.  By starting with one that is already ground off, one knows the angle to use for deeper cutting.

This valve cover could be used with the "ugly" rash on the up side to decrease any tendency to leak oil.  I would leave it down and apply some of that epoxy on the inside.

Listing it here is because I just can't stand to toss parts that somebody may be able to use.  My starting price reflects that.

Thanks for looking at my item.  I am listing old BMW motorcycle parts as I dig them out, so they are not in any order.  Many more to come, some quite nice and rare.  I am parting out two 1974 BMW motorcycle R90/6 models.  Both were running and had fatal engine problems while on the freeway.  The good engine and transmission parts are now gone.  I am now down to the frames, forks and lots of small parts.  I do not have time to look for some exact part that you may need.  Check my other listings for the next weeks and you may find what you need.
