Just a fortnight after the new Mazda 6 saloon was revealed at the 2012 Moscow motor show, the estate version of the 6 is headed for its own spot in the limelight at the Paris show later this month. Powered by the same range of engines as the saloon, and underpinned by Mazda's fuel-supping 'SkyActiv' architecture, it'll reach UK shores before the end of 2012. Gert Hildebrand, former General Manager of Mini Design, was appointed Head of Design at Qoros Auto in January this year. In his new role, Hildebrand is responsible for overseeing a regeneration of the existing design and styling processes at the joint venture company, a collaboration between Qoros and Israel Corporation, which was founded in 2007. One of many high level designers making the transition to China, Hildebrand is is currently tasked with leading the creation of the new Qoros brand, which was unveiled at a presentation in Shanghai last week.

MG Icon at Beijing The MG Icon – an SUV/Crossover Concept – has won the ‘Best Concept’ Award at the Beijing Motor Show from Autoweek Magazine. Just before the Beijing Motor Show kicked off we got the first sketches of the MG Icon, a compact, funky SUV Crossover in the mould of the Nissan Juke with an MGB bonnet and grill. Sounds odd, but looked pretty good.
