This year five Chinese manufacturers are presenting their wares, and all have ambitions to start selling them here. Some are seeking co-operative deals with established companies, but none want the role taken by Chery, producing cars designed and engineered by Chrysler.

As far as the Ford Mondeo is concerned, few cars can be more evocative than the British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) race cars from the late 1990s. For legions of racing fans, the Mondeo was part of the golden era of BTCC - a time when factory-backed “Super Touring” cars did battle on the race tracks of Great Britain. A Fine Time To Be A Motorist

ALREADY cash-strapped motorists are paying millions of pounds for minor infringements after a record number of fines were issued, according to claims made by a national newspaper. The Daily Mail said that drivers are paying out £135 million a year after being caught on camera blocking box junctions or straying into bus lanes. Some 1.32 million fines were issued for minor offences in 2011/12, the newspaper said, a record number and a rise of 16% on the previous year.
