Struts work with your car's springs to make for a more comfortable ride, but they do wear out over time and need to be replaced. Before performing this work be sure to check the rest of the suspension components for excessive play and replace as necessary. Note that most people will also replace the strut bearings at this time as well as they tend to wear out at the same time.
