One Lap of the Web: Vintage racers, a 1961 Jaguar E-type and Warren Buffett '...in the house'

Fri, 03 May 2013

We spend a lot of time on the Internet -- pretty much whenever we're not driving, writing about or working on cars. Since there's more out there than we'd ever be able to cover, here's our daily digest of car stuff on the Web you may not otherwise have heard about. -- Whoopsies.

2013 Astra Convertible spied on video – The new Vauxhall Calibra / Opel Manta?

Sun, 02 Oct 2011

2013 Astra Convertible Spy Vauxhall and Opel have now managed to reveal much of the new Astra Model range – with the Astra GTC debuting at Frankfurt last month being the latest – but there’s still the drop-top Astra Convertible to come. The 2013 Astra Convertible – which may arrive as the new Vauxhall Calibra – has been caught on video testing ahead of an expected debut at Paris in 2012, before going on sale across Europe in 2013. Looking very much like the GTC with a cloth top, the new Astra Convertible loses the tin-top of the old model and gets a folding canvas top in the name of economy, lightness and dynamics.

Traffic Booster honks at drivers as soon as the light turns green

Tue, 01 Apr 2014

The Traffic Booster is a simple little device: a few resistors, some switches, a box with a cheap car horn in it. But the apocalyptic infuriation it causes is priceless, and if deployed across a city center, the ensuing riots will cause untold millions in damages.
