More crazy, sexy, cool stuff from my M Roadster / Z3 days.  This is the ultra-hard-to-find OEM "Trunk Lid Rack."  Chrome finish rack.  The rack must be semi-permanently (!) mounted (means drilling four holes thru pre-marked dimples under the trim-panel) to the rear deck-lid....although it can easily be removed and the holes plugged if you make a crafty trip to the hardware store.  This is the usual BMW high grade stuff and my old BMW Accessories catalogue shows the price for the rack as "$400.00" (!)  Considered installing this on my BMW M3 convertible's rear deck-lid but decided against it....but the point is, you could put it on just about ANY vehicle and it would look pretty good and work great.  Condition of the rack is really good / almost perfect....no dents, rust, pitting or smashed / bent areas.  The chrome hole-cover discs that the rack mounts through are near mint also.  A few of the various fasteners that secure the rack (all hidden from view by the inside trim-cover if I remember correctly) have some areas of light corrosion...purely cosmetic and in no way compromise the job they are meant to do.  Also have a pre-drilled Z3 rear deck lid in decent shape if interested....color I believe is "Atlanta Blue Metallic", but I would want to research it before I made any promises.

Whos Where: Peter Schreyer to head Kia Design

Schreyer will oversee the design activities of the company's regional design centers in Frankfurt, Los Angeles and Tokyo as well as the Namyang Design Center in Korea. While Schreyer's move to Kia comes across as a big surprise for many within automotive design circles, his departure from Volkswagen doesn't.

Saab 9-3 restarts production in Trollh

Thu, 19 Sep 2013

Would you look at that? They started building Saabs again. A bright future, perhaps, for the Sick Carmaker Of Europe, who after its excision from General Motors and dalliances with the Swedish government and the Dutch, was snapped up by an Asian conglomerate billing itself as National Electric Vehicle Sweden (NEVS).

GM's green future: EVs, plug-in hybrids

Wed, 14 Nov 2012

General Motors' future green-car efforts will focus on plug-in hybrids and electric vehicles rather than conventional hybrid powertrains, product chief Mary Barra said Wednesday. Barra said GM has narrowed its future development emphasis in an effort to defend its leadership position attained with the Chevrolet Volt plug-in hybrid. GM will unveil an electric Spark minicar in late November at the Los Angeles auto show.
