The Z8 is one of those once in a generation automobiles that never really depreciates and starts appreciating in less than 10 years. Meanwhile, the contemporary Mercedes SL, Porsche Turbo and Ferrari 360 are worth a fraction of their original price.
You’re a serious Z8 owner; you have the coffee table book with the correct VIN label and polaroid, you have the miniature car in the correct color, the original car cover and the case for the battery tender. You also have the Z8 DE helmet, bag and t-shirt; heck you even have the timeport phone in the original box. All those things make your car worth more to you and a potential buyer/collector. My father is an original Z8 owner that has all those things. BUT, he also has three sets of all the original labels. Imagine how much more his car is worth to a collector if he ever decided to sell it.
You’re looking at a complete set of labels for the BMW Z8. These are not cheap replicas, but genuine OEM BMW sourced labels. If you are a serious Z8 collector or just plan to keep your Z8 for a long time, you’ll likely need these labels at some point. Here is your chance to keep your investment ahead of the pack.
My father has painstakingly catalogued all the labels for each of his BMWs, including the Z8, for when they need replacing. These Z8 labels took countless hours to catalog, get the correct P/Ns and match them to those in the car. How valuable are these? He had to replace the cover between the front of the hood and the radiator (under the hood) because it was scratched by a mechanic. This also required replacing the “Use Only High Performance Synthetic Oil” label, which of course he had in his collection. When his windshield cracked and had to be replaced, the two break-in labels also had to be replaced. Of course, he had all these labels in his collection as well. As other labels wear out, fade or fall off, they will need replacing to keep the car in original form.
Here is what you get in this auction:
· The “Vehicle Emissions Control” label (under the hood)
· The “Attention/High Voltage” label (under the hood)
· The “Lights Off” label (this is the Xenon lights label under the hood)
· The “Use Only High Performance Synthetic Oil” label (under the hood)
· The “Caution Automotive Air Conditioner” label (under the hood)
· The “Attention Genuine Parts” label (under the hood)
· The two “Break In” Instructions labels (windshield)
· The three Refueling Instructions labels (gas filler area)
· The “Correct Tire Pressure” label (driver’s side door jam)
· The “Warning Attention” label (passenger side door jam)
· The “Lifetime Oil” label (on transmission)
· The “6,51” label (on coolant tank)
· The “Mounting Instructions for Airbag” label (underside)
Here is what you don’t get:
· The VIN# label on the driver’s side door jam. These can only be ordered by the registered owner from BMW and available only on a “case by case” basis.
· The paint code label; however, I’ll provide the correct P/N for your particular color so you can order it from your local BMW center.
· The small body panel (VIN) labels. These are not available from BMW.
Some of these labels are already out of production and more will go out of production as time goes on. They will be either replaced by different style labels that are not original to the Z8 or not available at all. Ask any owner/collector of a vintage BMW what they would pay today for the genuine labels. For example, the “Lights Off” label (under the hood) that originally was affixed to Z8s is no longer available and has been replaced by a different label. Please, note that only two of the three sets I’m offering have that original “Lights Off” label; the third set has the new replacement label.
These labels are strictly for the 2000-2003 BMW Z8 and are specifically those that came on the 2003 models. Some of the older models might not have come with some of these labels (but hey, you’ll have the label to upgrade it to 2003 spec.!). I have no idea if these labels will work/match any other BMW model, including the Alpina Roadster.
These labels are not cheap and retail for around $15 each! If you were to assemble them, the cost would be around $250. Of course, you would still have to research all the part numbers, which would take countless hours. The dealer parts guy won’t know the specific part numbers.
I’m offering three sets of labels. If there is sufficient interest, I might provide additional sets. If not, when these are gone…

‘Nemesis’ breaks UK electric car speed record
Sat, 29 Sep 2012An electric car – based on a second-hand Lotus Exige – has broken the UK electric car speed record with a speed of 151.6mph. We’re not entirely sure how relevant a new UK speed record for an electric car is, but let’s be parochial and report it anyway. The ‘Nemesis’ is an electric car built round a second hand Lotus Exige, bought off eBay, by a team of engineers in a shed in Norfolk and driven by an Estate Agent from Gloucestershire.

The trend seems to be gaining popularity, seeing as Ford Motor Co.
