8 sailboat storage stands made by CON-O-LIFT. This includes four stands with a 50" tall base +16" screw and four with a 60" tall base +16" screw. The screw shafts have been professionally reinforced with thick wall pipe for extreme winds. The stands are galvanized (much better than paint) and the shafts have been lubricated. These stands were designed for a 40,000 lb sailboat to endure hurricane force winds. The CON-O-LIFT bases have much more ground surface area than the Brownell stands used by most boat yards. The broad bases help prevent the stands from sinking into soft rain soaked ground. The thick walled pipe, added to reinforce the screw shafts, make the stands far more buckle proof than any standard storage stands on the market. (today's new price at CON-O-Lift is $149/stand and that's before reinforcement is added. See CON-O-LIFT, Parry Sound, Ontario, Canada.) SHIPPING: The stands weigh 80 lbs each. But, for shipping, the stands can easily be disassembled into a compact 45 lb core and a stackable 35 lb base. Each stand has a triangular base that measures 46”-36”-46” at the bottom. Four of the bases are 60” tall and the other four are 50” tall. The BUYER PAYS FOR SHIPPING OR PICKS UP from 55433 in Minnesota.

2012 Porsche Boxster S Video Just a few days after the reveal of the 2012 / 2013 Porsche Boxster and Porsche Boxster S, we get the first video of the Boxster S. It’s a little unfair, but the Porsche Boxster gets tarred as the Porsche for the man (or woman) who can’t afford the real thing – a Porsche 911. But that is unfair, as the Boxster is a very good car.

Drivers 'concerned' by automatic speed limit technology

Sun, 03 Nov 2013

THREE QUARTERS of drivers say they are concerned about new technology that automatically changes the speed of a car. These Intelligent Speed Adaptation (ISA) systems are designed to force cars to drive within the speed limit and can automatically reduce a car’s speed without the driver’s input. The Institute of Advanced Motorists (IAM) says 75% of drivers it asked thought ISA systems would compromise safety, while 78% did not want to see this technology retro-fitted to older cars.

Tue, 24 Apr 2012

BMW i8 eDrive Spyder BMW has revealed the convertible i8 Spyder in Beijing complete with a new moniker - eDrive – to denote plug-in. We knew the BMW i8 Spyder was getting its public debut at the Beijing Motor Show this week because BMW told us. What we didn’t know is that BMW would be adding more confusing nomenclature to their eco i-brand.
