Mercedes SLS AMG – production begins
Thu, 28 Jan 2010The Mercedes SLS AMG has gone in to production in Germany I don’t know why – as Mercedes hadn’t previously announced it – but we guessed that they’d already started to put the Mercedes SLS AMG in to production ready for the first customer cars to start hitting in the Spring. The SLS AMG is due to arrive in Germany at the end of March at a base price of €177,310 and is being produced at the Mercedes factory in Sindelfengen, Germany.
Ferrari 599 GTB 60F1 Edition celebrates 60 years of Ferrari F1
Wed, 07 Dec 2011Ferrari 599 GTB 60F1 Edition Ferrari is to launch a limited edition version of the 599 GTB – the 599 GTB 60F1 – to celebrate 60 years in Formula One. Ferrari has been there since the beginning of F1, which makes Silverstone 2011 the 60th anniversary of Formula One, and to celebrate Ferrari is to release a limited edition model – the Ferrari 599 GTB 60F1. Based on the HGTE package available for the regular Ferrari 599 – which means stiffer springs and dampers, a bigger stabilizer bar at the back, bigger rubber and lowered suspension – the 599 GTB 60F1 is part of Ferrari’s Tailor Made programme (which does what it says on the tin).
Opel / Vauxhall Insignia Sports Tourer Crossfour revealed
Fri, 30 Dec 2011Insignia Sports Tourer Crossfour leaks out Opel / Vauxhall are planning a competitor to the Audi Allroad with a high-riding version of the Insignia Sports Tourer CrossFour. Audi have had the butched-up estate market pretty much all to itself for a long time with the Allroad, but hot on the heels of theVW Passat Alltrack we now look like we’re about to get a new competitor from GM in Europe – the Vauxhall / Opel Insignia Sports Tourer CrossFour. Opel has taken the normal recipe for the CrossFour, with plastic bits bolted on to the bumpers and wheel arches, a higher ride height and the obligatory four wheel drive, and mixed them in to the very capable Insignia Sports Tourer.
