The last Ferrari 250 GTO Series 1 to hit auction rooms in 2012, fetched a remarkable $35 million, and last year another 250 GTO – chassis #5111 – was sold in a private deal thought to be worth $52 million. In 2005, Maranello unveiled the F430 Challenge, a racing version which competes in the Ferrari Challenge Trofeo series. Enthusiasts have been eagerly anticipating a roadgoing Challenge, and Di Montezemolo's off-the-cuff remarks at Ferrari's Geneva press conference suggests we won't be waiting much longer.
Porsche 928 to be reborn as Porsche Panamera Coupe
Mon, 03 Dec 2012Porsche boss Matthias Mueller has revealed plans for new variants on the Porsche Panamera – including a Panamera Coupe – and more new models. Porsche boss, Matthias Mueller, has confirmed that Porsche are planning to extend the Panamera offerings with a coupe and probably a production version of the very convincing Panamera Sport Turismo Concept we saw at Geneva in the spring, although nothing has been signed off yet. The most likely time for the Panamera Coupe and Shooting Brake to arrive is after Porsche refresh the Panamera next year, so we should expect a ‘new 928′ to arrive some time in 2014.
