阅读本文中文版本请点击这里 As China returns to work after the three-day Ching Ming holiday, all eyes in the automotive industry turn to Shanghai and what promises to be the most significant auto show of this year's global calendar.  CDN will be actively contributing to the insights into the direction being taken by car design in the country by hosting two events; the annual Interior Motives China conference and, on the middle evening of the conference, the awards ceremony of the second Car Design Awards China, for which the shortlist has just been announced. Themed ‘The challenge of being different', this year's Interior Motives China conference will see around 300 delegates wrestle with how to capture what is ‘Chinese' in car design. Speakers will be from both domestic studios and the design centres of global OEMs.

Abarth Fiat 500 Convertible confirmed. Punto Abarth coming?

It looks like plans for an Abarth version of the 500C for 2010 are confrmed But a successful model is always going to spawn whatever variants a car maker can viably muster, so our report in July that we will see an Abarth version of the 500C in Spring 2010 – probably at the Geneva Motor Show – now seem to have been confirmed as ‘jokeforblog’ has published pictures of what seems to be a road-ready Abarth Convertible at Abarth’s facility. Jaguar F-Type to get manual gearbox

Jaguar’s Adrian Hallmark has revealed that Jaguar’s new manual gearbox will be heading in to the new F-Type. They’ve gone because the slush boxes of old have been replaced by new, double clutch boxes that actually give better performance and better economy than a driver with a left foot in action. But still, the yearning for the control and feel of a manual ‘box remains at the core of the driving experience.
