Boom Mat’s new Under Hood Thermal Acoustic Lining was designed primarily for automotive engine compartments as a way to greatly reduce heat and noise with a simple and easy peel and stick application. Extreme engine heat and noise often is a problem with today’s modified vehicles packed with high performance components. Made of ¾” thick, high quality, marine grade acoustical foam with a fiberglass reinforced reflective aluminum skin while the 5 mil acrylic adhesive provides a permanent bond. Under Hood Thermal Acoustic Lining not only insulates the underside of the hood for sound deadening and thermal control, it also protects the vehicle's paint finish. Under Hood Thermal Acoustic Lining can also be used as noise control applications such as on generator boxes and many industrial uses including HVAC applications. Ford are supplying a total of six new Rangers is single cab, double cab and Thunder derivatives and, with its 3,000kg towing capacity and decent off-road abilities, it’s a good choice for Goodwood support. Plus of course it gives Ford a showcase for the new Ranger ahead of its UK launch in September.
Stile Bertone goes independent

The changes were rubber-stamped at a meeting in Turin on Monday. The new managing director is former Aprilia CEO Teresio Gaudio, who has been a consultant to the Bertone family while the future of the business was sorted out.

Honda has made big noises about the Insight being significantly cheaper than the Prius, which seems to have got Toyota thinking. The next generation Toyota Prius (unveiled recently at Detroit) is due out before too long, and is a bigger, better equipped car than the outgoing version, and therefore more expensive.
