It's one of 12 vehicles on show at the Mitsubishi stand and previews the Japanese car maker's vision for future small cars. The Global Small Concept in fact forms the basis for a new supermini coming in March 2012.

The memory of the Goodwood Festival of Speed 2014 may now have faded, but for Olympic gold medallist Nicola Adams, the experience of the event is one she’ll be sure never to forget. That’s because Hyundai brand ambassador Adams was strapped into the passenger seat of the firm’s i20 WRC world rally car alongside factory rally driver Thierry Neuville for a white-knuckle ride around Goodwood’s famous forest rally stage. Concept Car of the Week: Mazda Ibuki (2003)

With the Ibuki, Mazda designers synthesized the most successful of the first generation MX-5's iconic elements and evolved their forms to make them even more memorable and simple. To do so, they used a strong geometric theme throughout the car inside and out: LED headlamps; front air intake; tail lamps; rear view mirrors; release handles and interior details down to the pedals – every shape follow the same oval theme. Zooming out, the silhouette – as well as the top view – is also oval, making the Ibuki look more like a toy than a car, which is a real bonus for a small roadster.
