Heading the trio of experimental designs is the Concept GC-PHEV, a full-size SUV using a development of Mitsubishi’s plug-in hybrid drivetrain. And October has recorded a year on year increase of 31.6%, although total car sales are still down over 12% on 2008 figures. October saw a big rise in new cars sales to private buyers with sales rocketing by 86%, and there were rises in the fleet and business market.

The new Mercedes SL (which is either a 2012 or 2013 model, depending on which side of the Pond you are) is due to arrive in January at the Detroit Motor Show. But it’s turned up a bit earlier than Mercedes wants thanks to a brochure leak picked up by the guys at Autoblog.nl.
