Toyota files for 'Supra' trademark
Mon, 17 Feb 2014Adding more grist to the new-Toyota-sports-car mill, the automaker has filed with the USPTO for a “Supra” trademark covering “Automobiles and structural parts thereof.” On one hand, it's routine for companies to protect their dormant trademarks; Toyota previously filed to protect the "Supra" mark back in 2010; that protection expired on January 27th of this year. The new filing was made on Feburary 10th, in the midst of the post-Detroit, FT-1 enthusiast froth. Car whiplash claim scam caught on video
Mon, 07 Oct 2013Car whiplash claim scam caught on video The whole ‘Cash for Crash’ industry in the UK has got completely out of hand, fuelled not just by dishonest motorists eager for an easy few quid, but by ambulance-chasing lawyers eager to find a claim where there’s not even blame, and stupid insurance companies who sell said lawyers the details of their clients’ collisions. In fact, it does seem car insurance companies are increasingly eager to put obstacles in the way if you object that you weren’t at fault when someone crashes in to you, and would rather settle quickly than spend time, money and resources on fighting spurious claims for you. So the idea of having a dash-cam of some description to keep a record of events is a smart one, and that’s exactly what Smart Witness offers; a dash-cam that takes a 170 degree view from the driver’s perspective and records it to a smart card.
Aston Martins voted 'best status symbol'
Mon, 04 Aug 2014AN ASTON Martin is the car to be seen driving if you want people to believe you've 'made it', according to an offbeat new study. Research carried out by Auto Trader among 1,024 drivers showed that the British brand's cars are, perhaps unsurprisingly, the ones that most Brits think highest of, beating the likes of Ferrari, Lamborghini and Bentley down the order. In fact, the top three positions in the survey were filled by British car makers, with Bentley and Rolls Royce second and third respectively.
